UPDATED--Is a Line a Line?

So now I don't know what to think.  I've taken 3 tests they all have faint lines and I just took a digital ClearBlue and it says not pregnant.  What do I do now?  I'm still late and 3 out of 4 are showing something.  Do I just wait and retest in a few days?

 So I'm overly excited about trying to have a baby, and prior to TTC my cycle was like clock work.  I took a preg test Monday and it was negative, and I should have started my period today but haven't yet (seriously I usually start in the morning).  So curiosity got me, and I took a test.  Came back with a faint line.  If it's in the light I see it, if I take it away from the light I see it.  I even went to PeeOnAStick.com and found my brand (first response) and it looks like the ones in the first category.  So I was just wondering if anybody else has had this experience.  If so...were you?!?

 

PS I can't stop staring at the stick!!!!

I first tested 6 days prior to my missed period....got a faint line I could ONLY see in the light. I tested two days later with a first response and got a FAINT line I could see in and out of the light...did the test again for the next two days and the line only got darker!!  Now we are 8 weeks in!!  Sounds like a BFP to me!  (fyi my periods were always right on time too!)

Congrats! You are (more than likely) PG! My line was very faint the first time. I tested two days before my missed period. I tested again the day my period was due, and did not come, and the line was darker. It was a great relief to know that a faint line, is still a positive! Enjoy this!!!

Yes! Congrats. When I first took FRER the line was only visible in light, so I went out and bought a digital and it said pregnant! You could always double check with a digital.

Sounds like you are preggers!  Congrats!  I tested on the day I missed my period and got a faint line, the next evening i tested with a digital hpt and it came up "pregnant"!  I liked that, b/c we also took a pic with that test!

Sounds like my line! I had to have DH look at it to make sure I wasn't seeing things. I tested the next day and it was darker and the day after that with a digital.. PREGNANT! Congrats!

a line is a line, sometimes an evap line.. i would either try the digital or perhaps wait a couple days and test first thing in the morning.. those "very faint" lines can be tricky.. good luck

Yes a line is a line. With my daughter I got a faint on the day of was indeed pregnant. This pregnancy I got about 6 very faint test. I mean they were so faint I thought I was seeing things so I took a digital it said pregnant with in a minute. I have a picture on my bio. They were so faint I don't even think you can see them in the picture. Good luck.

I would do a digital.  When I got my BFP, it was 4 days before my missed period and the line was obvious, but I still felt like I could be seeing things. So I got out the digital and it came up "pregnant."  Totally exciting.  GL!!

I started testing 10dpiui & got the faintest line. Then everyday it got DARKER )) CONGRATS to you!

When in doubt: use a digital! I used Clearblue easy digital and got my result really early when my hcg levels were about 30 (I had to go in the same day for bloodwork confirmation). The Clearblue digital test picked up the hcg in the urine at 25 mlu. So, it's an early detection and no stupid lines to worry about!

But yes, a line is a line! So congrats!

The Clear Blue Easy Digital test is not anywhere near as sensitive as the First Response.  I think it was 3 days after my first faint positive on a FRER that I got a positive on a digital test.  To me a line is a line!  Congrats!!

Are you reading the tests within the allowed time limit? if the test only shows a line after the time limit is up, it may be an evap line...

I'm reading it within the time frame, and it actually appears before the time is up.  I'm hoping it isn't an evap line, but I'll reset tomorrow morning and see again.  I think I'm all tested out today!

This pregnancy I saw faint lines on two FRER, but got a negative on a digital.  I ended up getting betas two days later and then was brave enough to pee on a digital again and it said positive.
