My ILs are pretty ridiculous in general, but this is a new one.
We've been asking FIL for gift ideas for WEEKS. You'd think it would be totally unrelated, but MIL ordered a new car and it got delayed. FIL was so upset about the delay in the delivery (which affected him in no way and MIL was given a different car to drive by the dealership, so she was putting miles on a car that wasn't even theirs), that he said he couldn't even think about Christmas because all he wanted was the car in his possession. ![]()
MIL got the car Tuesday. FIL called H tonight to tell him he'd come up with some Christmas ideas. He said he'd picked out a bunch of DVDs on Amazon and wanted to FORWARD THE LINK TO THE CART SO ALL H HAD TO DO WAS ENTER HIS PAYMENT INFO.

Okay, I'm hormonal. And we're on a tight budget. So maybe I'm just a little easily annoyed. But, seriously? What's the freaking point? He may as well have just ordered the DVDs himself and had us write him a check. It just seems so greedy to me. Ideas are one thing -- at least we ultimately have a choice on what to buy. But to just say "pay for the stuff in my Amazon cart?" I find that utterly ridiculous.
Re: Would this annoy you?
Yea, of course that would annoy me.
Instead, you should just let the kids paint him a picture and slap it in a $3 walmart frame. Call it a day.
yeah, annoying.
MIL told SIL that we could buy gifts for them from her (she'd already purchased them) because then she'd at least get something she wants.
I told Jeff we could give her a flaming bag of poo.
Yeah, if the cart is like $50 or something I wouldn't care because i'd still have room to get him something else that he deosn't know about yet. But if the cart isl ike $150, I'd be mad.
