This will be a first child for me. Second month TTC (yay I figured out one of the abreviations). At the start of this month my doctor put me on metformin due to suspected PCOS. She explained the signs of ovulation but told me I should just take it easy these first 6 months and enjoy the experience of "trying"; IE no ovulation kits or charting. Pffts.
Since around the 8th of Dec I've felt that pinch low in one side, on I believe on the 12th of Dec I ovulated (other signs, seems TMI to go into). First Day of last cycle was Nov. 24th. Now that I've gone back and counted the 12th seems a bit late to have ovulated... ?
My real question is this. I thought after I ovulated the pinchy pain on the side would fade. But its just kind of hung out and today it seems really persistant. I went ahead and took an ovulation test for the first time today incase I was wrong about the 12th. Ovulation test was negative. Since we cast a really wide net from the 2nd to the 13th of Dec, I went ahead and took a pregnancy test (Yes I am paranoid!) I didnt expect it to be conclusive so early and it wasnt. *LOL*
Ugh rambling.
Ok so has anyone experienced this prolonged ovary pinch/tenderness I dont know what to call it. Is this normal? I certainly have never experienced it before during my cycles but I know I haven't been ovulating for years.
Re: Dumb question?
It is the right side. I went ahead and left an after hours message with the doctor's office. She called me back and wants to see me next week if the pain doesn't get any worse. If any other symptoms of apendicitis start to present then I'm supposed to call her back. She also said this could be normal tenderness for me due to my other health issues (R.A. and fibro) coupled with the metformin and not ovulating for years. No fever or anything like that yet so she told me to just take it easy for a few days.
I never realized how hard it is too take it easy and not worry. Ya'll must get so sick of hearing that after you have tried for a while.
Thanks for all the responses.
I haven't had the pain you're talking about, but in relation to your sort of question about the 12th being late to O, I have O'd as late as CD 22. So that may be accurate, although without testing I don't think there's any way to really know if that was the day or not.
Good luck to you.
It sucks that every little pain or issue we have with our lower abdomen gets us thinking of.....oh it my ovaries, oh it is a cyst, or what ever that is related to TTC. This damn TTC is making me a crazed woman most days!!!!! About a year back I started Clomid and I had some serious abdominal pains....like bent right over thinking I may die. Well it turned out that it was diverticulitis and not at all related to my TTC.
Damn TTC!!!!!

I have that same pinchy pain every month about 3 days before ovulation and then the dull lower back ache the day of ovulation and then I have sporadic cramps for the next 24-36 hours.
Some women actually cramp and pinch as the egg travels through the fallopian tube.
I talked to my RE about it and it is perfectly normal. I am just much mroe aware of it now that I am actively trying to conceive.
