Does anyone have the Crayola crayon maker?

I may get it for my 6 year old for Christmas. It gets some mixed reviews on Amazon. I don't know if waiting 20 minutes to make a crayon will be anticlimactic for her. But we do have lots of crayon bits we can use to make new stripey crayons.

Any reviews?

  • You can also throw those crayon bits into a muffin tin and toss it in the oven for about 10 min at 350. Let cool, and voila. New swirly crayons.

I would save my money, personally.

  • I'm a crayon nazi.  Any that are broken or not Crayola and washable get thrown out, so it would be pointless around here...lol.

How's that for wasteful? Stick out tongue

But,  I'm with Lari on this one. You can eve buy one of those silicone molds (for brownies or whatever) and make shape ones for about $2-3.

  • Loading the player...
  • We made some doing what Lari said. They were so cute and easy to make.

  • Yeah, I've seen the tutorials online about making them with a muffin pan. But my 6 year old loves to color in coloring books, and she gets mad if she doesn't keep it in the lines. I can't imagine the frustration she'd have trying to color with a hockey puck crayon.
