I am seen on base, they have the stupidest system dealing with pregnancy.

You have to call and leave a voice mail to get a blood pregnancy test done (not a beta just a regular line or no line test). It takes about 48 hours for them to call you back to give you your PIN number and tell you when you can get the test done. You go in and get your blood drawn and then they give you a phone number to a recording. If your PIN number is called out on the recording your test was positive, but it can take up to 72 hours for them to update the system.

Once you hear your number you then have to call a different number and leave another voice mail where someone will call you back with in 72 hours to set up an Intake appointment.

The great thing is that the intake appointment is with a Nurse, no Doctors or OB just a nurse who gets all of your family history done. This is supposed to be done during 6-8 weeks. Then you can make your appointment with the OB during 10-12 weeks.

Well I had called everywhere trying to figure out what I needed to do since I was already seeing an RE. I still had to go through all the same stuff. So today finally the woman calls me to set up my first appointment. She did not ask me when would be a good time. I answered the phone and she said your appointment will be December 30th. I immediately said that is not possible we are going to be in Oklahoma from Dec 21st to Jan 4th, during DH's leave.

Instead of asking me when would be a good time she said ok, well I will have to call you back, bye. And she hung up. WTF? Really? I hate having to deal with these people.

What base are you seen at? DH is stationed at Ft. Bragg and all I had to do was go to the clinic and request a pregnancy test and they did the blood test. The nurse took my phone number and told me she would call me back before the end of the day with the results so I wouldn't have to wait the 24 hrs. I have to call the OB appt. nurse tomorrow to make that appt.

I know that the 1st appt. is usually at 10 weeks unless you are a high risk pregnancy (in those cases you get seen sooner-so I've been told). Call her back and make sure they put in a order for your prenatal vitamins.
