How did you tell work?

A few people know here...people I am around constantly (b/c they noticed I was sick lol) including my boss, but how did you tell everyone? I don't want to just make a random announcement, but I would like for people to know that we are expecting, and I don't mind telling them at this point. I may wait until after the holidays, so there isn't so much going on, but I would like to tell them soon! I hate keeping it a secret, sometimes it nearly slips out haha.

I actually had a woman Monday (who I dislike....a lot) question why I was wearing "wristbands" LOL. Uhhhhh b/c I like them.....luckily she took that and just went about her business

My boss knows because she kind of coerced it out of me, but she's one of 4 people who know. Including DH. I plan on telling work after Christmas and will probably just humorously spring it on my small team, ie 2 other employees. My boss's boss has spoken with me regarding his wife's m/c, so I will probably seek him out to share. Everyone else will just hear it through the grapevine, no additional announcement.

I'm only going to tell my boss, everyone else can figure it out for themselves (I don't really like most of the people I work with).  I have had people stare at my "wrist bands" on several occasions, but no one has dared ask why I am wearing them. I only have them on when I'm wearing long sleeves, but they peek out alot.

Are the wristbands for nausea? If so do they really work?

I am just going to tell the managing partner and a couple of my friends.  Everyone else can figure it out on their own.

I told 2 co-workers at Thanksgiving dinner. One of those girls is my lil town cryer and told the rest of the "lunch crew" But she instructed me of the processes I had to take for work restrictions, after I did that and the paperwork came down the line it notified my boss, my safety guy and my supply guy (...the rest of the people I work with)

I ended up telling pretty early, because I teach and leaving early is a big hassle and I had SOOOO many doctor appointments in the beginning. I just shot my principal and APs an email and told them I needed to speak with them, and then sat down with them all together and just told them. I announced it to my team during grade level planning that same afternoon, and then since I work with mostly women (lol) word spread pretty fast to everyone else.

I know everyone is weird about telling early, but I figured that if something happened I would a) want to take a few days off work and b) would want that extra support so I had no problem spilling the beans at only 6 weeks.

Thanks guys...maybe I will just let the news trickle out gradually. I don't care if they know now, so I guess I'll tell those that know its not a secret anymore! I also don't want people to think I am fishing for congrats lol.

I wear sea bands. They work to a point, and it different for everyone.  I can't really tell mine are doing anything, unless I take them off. I have learned to NOT take them off or I will be sorry. They definitely take the edge off of nausea, but if I'm going to vomit, they don't do anything to prevent that.

I am hoping to wait another 3-4 weeks before I tell my boss or anyone at work. 

If you want everyone else to know at work, you could just tell the people that already know that it's not a secret and they can spread the word if anyone asks.

I have two jobs right now.  One is a temp office position. Even though it is a huge company, I really only interact with my manager and another guy on my team.  I plan on telling my manager when I come back from the holidays (after new years).  I think I'll just tell him while we have our "how was your break" chit chat. 

I also tutor and mostly work with one lady there.  I plan on telling her the same way at the same time.

So i started my job when i was already pregnant but didnt know, and now im terrified to tell my boss, i know he cant fire me over a pregnancy but ive only ben there for 5 weeks and im 11 weeks preg!! Im also part time, any advice?

I told my boss right away because I was feeling pretty crappy and knew I might have to call in some days.  She's also just really supportive, so I was comfortable telling her.  I told everyone else a week or so ago at our staff meeting.  They could tell I had been feeling bad and people had been asking me if I was ok.  We have a fairly small staff and I work in a therapy office, so everyone is really supportive.  I'm not a center of attention type of person, so that's the only thing I didn't like about it.

I was going to wait until after the holidays, but on Tuesday, my boss asked me if everything was okay b/c he noticed I had not been acting like myself. I just told him it was stress, etc. Then I felt guilty about it, so the next day I told him. He was very supportive. I don't plan on telling everyone else until after the holidays. I acutally feel better now that he knows.

Well, there are 8 girls in my department that all knew DH and I were trying, so basically all 8 girls knew the Monday after I took the pregnancy test! But one of them let it slip when I was only 4 weeks and then it ended up in the company newsletter when I was about 8 weeks. I work for a very small company by the way so it's not like 1000 people got the newsletter but still, there were about 150-200 people that saw it. Luckily I made it to 11 weeks with no complications that I would have to explain to everyone in my company! In a way, I am glad everyone know, especially my managers, because I have been so sick and everyone has been extremely supportive and they try to offer advice, tips, reassuring stories, etc.

I havent told work yet.  I rarely see my boss because she's never in so I'll probably inform her by leaving her a letter informing her of my mat leave (I'm supposed to give 4 months notice if I take a leave of 6 months or more).

There are three of us on a team in my location, and one is out on mat. leave. The other person on my team knows, since we coordinate our schedules (and that includes a butt-load of dr appts for me.

My boss lives/works two times zones away. I'll tell my boss if our NT scan comes back clean.

Everyone else can just figure it out as they go along. Not into big announcements.

I work in a small office and started the job 2 days after I got my bfp. It was a really long interview process and they asked for a two year commitment, although I didn't sign anything. Anyway, they are counting on me to do a lot and I feel like I'm betraying them somehow. I haven't told my boss yet and am dreading it. I plan to tell her after the first tri (first week of Jan). As of now, I plan to continue working after having the baby, but I'm really hoping they'll be flexible with me and let me modify my hours and possibly work from home some. Wishful thinking. Anyway, I totally dread telling my boss and am jealous of those of you who already have! And I have no clue how I'm gonna tell her...
