Rock n Play Sleeper only $38!

Amazon has the Fisher Proce Roxk n Play Sleeper for only $38. We have a bassinet but I'm still thinking of getting this. Any second time moms have it? Love it? Hate it? TIA

  • How much does it cost normally? Would you mind posting a link to it?

  • Literally every mom I know who has it loves it.  It's also the perfect height for being next to my bed, which is where Aidan will be while he's still eating every 2 hrs.

    Retails for $60 - https://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Newborn-Rock-Sleeper-Yellow/dp/B002M77N22/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1292514696&sr=8-1

  • Any opinion on if it is worth spending the money on the rock and play if you already have a pnp that would double as the bassinet? Thoughts?

  • LOVE it. I got it for $40 at babies r us with a 20% off coupon and it was hands down the best investment I made in DS's first year. DS had reflux and would only sleep in his carseat since it propped him up. We tried propping the crib mattress/bassinet mattress, but it didnt work. He also hated the swing-the carseat was the only place he'd sleep for more than 10 minutes without waking up screaming. Unfortunately, allowing your child to sleep in a carseat is stressful and I was worrying he'd die in his sleep, so I didnt sleep at all. Then thanks to the bump, I found out about this product when DS was about 3 weeks old. Both of our nighttime sleep dramatically improved. He stayed in it until 5.5 months old.

if you live in a two story house then it may facilitate things for you, also some of the pnp bassinets wont hold babys weight for very long so you might want to look into that, if you are going to have to reach down to grab your baby when you are sleeping then i say get the rock n play.

  • Personally, I almost snatched it up right away.  I have a habit of reading the comments though.  I am going to think about it, but if you read some of the comments that are lower ratings... it doesn't look exactly safe in the long term.  I wouldn't use it all the time, though.  We'll see.
  • I have heard lots of good things. Amazon has free return shipping on this (and other) baby items so I went ahead and ordered one but kept it in the box. We will try the bassinet that our friends lent us first, but will have the rock n play available if he seems to prefer sleeping at an incline. If we don't need it, then I'll just return it. No risk really since Amazon will pay the return shipping if we change our mind.
  • I LOVE MINE!!! Off to buy another!

DH is very frugal and as soon as I clicked on your link he said, "Another one? On sale? Get it!"

We use it for baby's bassinet because it's so much less space consuming than the pack n play and because you can rock it. We also truck it up and down the stairs and from room to room all day long (haha- it's our first day home) and having another one will be awesome! Thanks for posting the link, and my advice is GET IT!!!!

I personally think that the breakdown of ratings speaks for itself:

    5 star - 177

    4 star - 18

    3 star - 6

    2 star - 4

    1 star - 5

Yeah, the poor rating talk about flat spots which freaked me out for a second, but babies get flat spots all the time from mattresses, so I think it would be hard to pin it on one item versus another. Same rules apply for this item as a matress- turn babies head in a different direction each time you put them in, make sure you do tummy time, etc. Just to be extra cautious, I placed a cloth diaper (the old school kind) between the plastic piece and the cover to add a little buffer.

  • I got a noggin nest at my shower but i'm kind of nervous about putting it in there overnight.  If sleep positioners are a sids risk, i'd imagine this thing is too?
