Has anyone heard of/used this product? Yesterday my hairdresser was telling my husband about it. She said that her sister used this for all three of her kids (before the doctor told her the gender) and the test got it correct every time. So last night my husband went and bought it at Walgreens. It's just a pee test that is supposed to determine the gender as early as 6 weeks. I took it this morning and according to the test, I am having a boy! My appt is January 13, so I am curious to see if the test was accurate for me or not. I am actually hoping it's a girl and have really felt like it was a girl, but of course I will love a mommas boy too. ![]()
Anyway, curious if any of you have used this, or know someone who has. I want more of an idea of accuracy for this product! My hairdresser is also pregnant and got the boy result. She won't know for sure until January either.

I'm sorry you wasted 30 bucks on that junk.
But hey, it's got a 50/50 shot of being right.
No bubble bursted here at all. And there was no wasting of money.
It's like walking on egg shells in this place.
You have a 50% chance of having a girl. You have the same chance of having a boy.
That will be $30 please.
this is a common kind of post ... lots of people ask about it. Although the search button doesn't work here on tb, google DOES.
google intelligender thebump.com and you'll see how many posts there are about it.
the test itself is only 50-50 because there is nothing in a pregnant woman's urine that can tell the sex of her baby. People don't want you to waste $30 on something that doesn't really work.
However, if you have an extra $30 and want to do something fun -- knowing it's about as accurate as going to a fortune teller -- then by all means, go ahead. Just don't go out and buy baby clothes based on the result!
jenerally: Thank you for not being rude or sarcastic in your post. Sure, google works. But, I didn't realize I had to google any possible questions or topic I may think about posting before I post it. Apparently that's what I need to do. I understand it's annoying if someone posts a certain thing over and over and apologize for being "that person". However, I think some responses did not need to be full of so much sarcasm.
I quite enjoy fortune tellers.
I think it's "fun". Some people like to go bowl or drink at clubs with their spare money/time, and some may go to fortune tellers or pee in some silly cup and see if it may tell the gender of their baby. So what. I certainly was not going to go buy clothes based on the outcome. No one goes and buys clothes just because an old wives tale says they are having a girl or boy, I just don't see how this is different.
Anyway, I'm done with my little rant now and will hop off my soap box and back onto my egg shells.
I seriously DID NOT intend for my response to come off as snarky, so I hope that was not directed at me. I understand your excitement!
No, I certainly wasn't directing that at you! Yours was not rude at all, just straight to the point. Not everybody was commenting in a sarcastic manner and I appreciate that. Like I said, I totally understand that it IS very annoying when a subject gets repeated, but when it's a newbie doing it who obviously does not know, I don't see the point in having to be snarky. (That's a good word for it!). If you don't like it or are sick of seeing it, just ignore the post! Right?! We're all pregnant and hormonal here..no need to stir crap up.
Dang it, I said I was off my soap box already.
::puts you back up on your soapbox::
Just wait about 10 more weeks. You'll get frustrated with seeing the same posts over and over and over and over again.
If you think these comments were snarky, just wait, it gets much worse than this.
No this isn't my "hormones" talking. It's just me.
Welcome to the 2nd tri board ::throws confetti::
Seriously...no one flamed you. It's called a sense of humor. Lighten up, FFS.
I understand being annoyed at the same question repeated 100x, but remember, not everyone is a regular poster/lurker and not everyone spends their days on the bump. Some people pop in here to ask a question, get the feedback and leave. Yes, there is google, but there also is the bump. And if I see a title about a question asked 100x, I just don't read the post.
Come on now. Seriously?
First, the "snark" in this thread has been very mild. Also, complaining about how mean we are isn't going to make it any better.
Second, big girl panties please
Third, if a urine test could determine the sex of your baby as early as 6 weeks, don't you think that would be offered at the doctor's office at your first appointment? Furthermore, explain how it would work for woman pregnant with g/b multiples. What does your urine have to do with the genetic make up of the fetus growing in your uterus? Common sense people.
*irked
And if someone is legitimately offended at the word midget, I fail to see how that is "nothing at all." They are entitled to their feelings on the subject, and telling someone they found the term offensive isn't rude. It's being honest.
I didn't blink too much at that post's subject line, but I get why someone else did. They are certainly allowed their feelings on the subject. Not sure how that equals "rude."
What a humerous way to spend my thursday.
I received an IntelliGender as a gift.. I conviced one of my non-pregnant MALE friends to pee on it.. It said "boy"..
He was kinda shocked..

Esma: I'll turn him into a flea. A harmless little flea. Then Ill put that flea in a box. And put that box inside another box. Mail that box to myself. And when it arrives. ILL SMASH IT WITH A HAMMER. Its brilliant, brilliant, brilliant I tell you. Genius I say.
Or to save on postage. Ill poison him with this.
