Leg Cramps....Sign of labor????

I just woke up for my nightly bathroom run and both my calves feel like they cramped up sometime during my sleep.  Now I am freaking out!  Is this a sign of labor????  After I walked to the bathroom, they felt better, but I could still tell that they were a little sore.  This is my first pregnancy so I really don't know what to be on the look out for except stomach cramps.

TIA!!!

  • I don't think so.  I had leg cramps throughout my first and second pregnancy.  Bananas help!

  • Wow!  I think you're pretty lucky if you haven't had them until now!!  I've been having them at night since about week 12.  If I pull my toes towards my shins when I stretch my legs out, it loosens them up.

This!  Ughhghgh I remember waking in the middle of the night and frantically trying to rub my legs!  I second the bananas...DH was a cross country runner and as soon as I started getting them he had me on a banana regimen!

The worst was first thing in the morning.  When I wake up I always stretch my body in bed....it would bring on the WORST leg cramps!  And then I would be kicking myself that I didn't remember that I can't do it anymore!

  • Hate the leg cramps!  I tend to get them at least once a week.  What works for me is standing up and leaning forward, holding my weight against a wall.  I've had some doozies, so I hope this helps!
