I woke up today with a HA so bad it might be the worst HA ever! I took one tylenol extra strenghth and went back to bed, 3 hours later the pain woke me up again, on and off all day! I took 2 extra strenght about 9, the pain is already coming back! WTF! I can't do anything because it gets worse if I move to suddenly or bend over, even if I get too excited (on the phone today gossiping with a friend I was laughing and boom! ouch!)
I don't have any sinus Sx, other than my usual alergy Sx. I feel stressed out since I lost my job Monday, so it could tension but that usually is in the back of the head and shoulders, this one is the forehead and temples.....what works for your headaches?
p.s. I never, ever, get headaches, this is soooo annoying!
Re: Headache--worse when I bend over, not going away!
I had this exactly for over a week straight. From morning to night, nonstop. I tried Tylenol, lavender oil massage, cayenne capsules to open blood vessels, homeopathic remedies, and FINALLY went to the doctor as per my midwife where they prescribed Rhinocort Aqua (I think it's called). It's a nasal spray for sinuses. I showed NO sinus symptoms, but that actually ended up being the problem. Within a day or two, I felt TREMENDOUSLY BETTER!!!!
I hope you get relief!
Also, another patient of my midwife had the same thing a week after me. She thinks it was a virus of some sort going around.
You might be getting migraines so I'd check in with your doctor. I was misdiagnosed when I first started getting them so they had me taking some sort of strong prescrip-strength advil. All those over the counter meds are like sugar pills to a migraine. If I leave them untreated they've been known to go on for up to 13-15 days straight!! It's the worst. I'm on Imitrex now and they go away like poof. Anyway, it's worth discussing, especially if you get another one. Hope it's just a regular headache, but either way caffeine will help if you have some right when symtoms start.
Oh! also, lay down with a stuffie, rolled sweatshirt, small pillow - whatever will fit under your neck and cause your head to tilt back. Lay like this for as long as it takes...it opens the vessels to your brain and can cure a migraine naturally. Sometimes it takes a while, but worth the relief. Ice or heat help, too...ice for me, heat for others.
Good luck!
This! Headache is a major symptom of elevated BP. If the top number is over 130, call your doctor.
