New To This Board

Hello Everyone, just thought I would say hello.  I have a baby girl that is 39 weeks gestation as of yesterday.  She was born at 26 weeks (exactly).  We have been in the NICU for 13 weeks.  We are very close to going home.  It has been a long and emotional journey. I thought I would check out this board to chat with moms who can understand life with a premie.  I also have a 17mth old son at home, so life is a crazy adventure for us right now.

Congratulations on the birth of your daughter as well as being close to going home! I just had my baby 3 weeks ago today at 33w3d. We've been close to coming home, but now we wait for tests and more to determine why Jocelyn is now not doing well again. My husband and I are currently taking care of our 4 year old nephew Cayden until my sister in law gets back from deployment. The ladies here are so helpful and supportive of one another...it's a miracle.

It sounds like you have made it through most of the ups and downs of the nicu by now.  Congrats on your journey and getting ready to go home.  Hopefully it will happen quickly for you.  Keep us updated!  It is always exciting to know another baby is graduating from the nicu!

Congrats on your daughter and I'm glad she'll be going home soon.  I just had a son at 26w 4d so I love seeing good outcomes (for all babies) but especially for the younger ones.
