Cloth Diapering

goodmama question

I am brand new to the goodmama's. I love my MS, so I think these look similar and want to try some. I saw someone mention that the older goodmama's may not be as quality. I want to buy used from Spot's, but how do I know which are older? What should I watch out for?

Re: goodmama question

  • Also what is the difference between a GM and a GM One?
  • I too love Monkey Snuggles and ADORE Goodmamas.  I actually destashed all my Monkey Snuggles because the rise just got too short, unfortunately.  I don't think there are quality issues on earlier GMs, per se.  The older you get, the more sherpa the diaper could be and the chance for the elastic to wear out.  But, if you find an older print that is barely used or still NIP, then it should be fine.  The older turned style of Goodmamas were designed a bit smaller than the newer turned styles.  The ones that GM has started making in the past 6 months more easily accomodate bigger babies and toddlers.  My suggestion is to get the name of the print you are looking at and search for it on the Goodmama Flickr page (link below).  I think turned prints prior to like June 2010 might have been the older style.  The serged styles from any GM time period fit the same from my experience.  :)

So the new serged ones are still cut the same as the old? Not bigger like the T&T? I was wondering this because I only have one serged (older) and it won't fit until PLing. For the price, I want them to last a while. :) All the T&T ones I have fit wonderfully with room to grow.

She hasn't made any serged in the new design yet.  :)  From what I know, she is still tweaking it.
