I have had cysts before...a couple of years back. I didn't have any symptoms but the obgyn said she felt them when doing my exam. I had an ultrasound to confirm. She said they were no big deal and taking birth control would take care of it.
I hadn't thought about the cysts since then and assumed they went away. But now I'm off birth control (and have been for some time) and I'm starting to feel like a pinching/gas-like pain where I imagine my left ovary is. I've felt it a couple days now but today it was the worst. My abdomen just feels full. I thought it was gas/constipation at first but now I'm thinking about the cysts and wondering if they might have come back.
So I'm wondering if you can feel ovarian cysts. If so, what do they feel like? This is not terrible pain -- just sort of gas-like, but milder. I notice it more when I'm moving around or talking (odd!) Also, I can press on the area and it's not tender or uncomfortable.
I'm going to the dr on the 29th but just looking for some insight until I can get there.
Thanks!
Re: Those with ovarian cysts...
I get mine from endometriosis. For me, it's not a gas type pinchy pain, its very strong, sharp cramping that sometimes radiates down the front of my leg a bit. I've never been able to feel them, even when the last ones I had that were surgically removed were the size of an orange, so I can't help with that. You really would think you would be able to notice them by pressing on your lower abdoment when they get large but I couldn't. Good luck at your doctor's appt!
This. Except I've never had kidney stones.
this. only to me it felt like i was in full blown labor. i had to take 2 vicadin they prescribed me for when they burst...and it almost didnt even touch the pain. omg.
