Thoughts on Maxwell

DH and I love the name Max.

I wanted it as a nn for Maxwell; he wanted it as a nn for Maximillian which I think is too much. He's coming around to Maxwell due to the power of persuassion, but now I'm wondering if we should just go with Max.

Max vs. Maxwell (nn Max)? Or neither?

Max (nickname or real name) is incredibly popular right now.  I like Maxwell better then Maximus or Maximillian.

To be honest I am over Max due to the explosion of the name recently. However that being said I much prefer Maxwell over Maximillian.

I prefer just Max.  IMHO Maxwell sounds snobby and nerdy.

I actually like Maxwell with the nn Max. It is popular but it seems like most decent boys names are popular at some point anyway- Go for it if you like it

Like Jack, Max seems to be fairly popular (although I haven't met one IRL yet)

I prefer Maxwell.  Maddox is another option (I don't care for it but just putting it out there)

Like Leo, Max seems like a short name that can stand alone. I don't usually like nicknames-as-given-names, but Max is ok. If you feel like you need a longer name, you could try something unexpected. Lomax? Massimo?

I have a Maxwell that we call Max.  I wanted him to have something professional for resumes when he is older.  Maybe thats a silly thought but that was my reasoning.  The name does seem to be popular right now, but I still love it!
