My LO is 6.5 months. He has been rolling from back to belly for several weeks now. Since then, he has been waking himself up at night (several times a night) when he rolls over. He has not mastered rolling back yet. Since he hates being on his stomach he flips out- we have to turn him over and help soothe him until he falls back to sleep (sometimes easily - sometimes I want to cry - b/c he doesn't fall back to sleep. A few nights ago I was up at almost every hr on the hr. since we're both working full time - It's killing me.
I heard the sleep positioners were recalled. So, I used two crochet blankets and rolled them length-wise to help him from rolling over. But, I take them out before I go to sleep b/c I get panicked about it. He had put the blankets over his head a few times. So, I thought I would rubber band them. But, then I thought of everything that could go wrong with that.
Do any of you guys have solutions for this. And when should he begin to roll from tummy to back. He sits up on his own very well and rolls like a pro. But, hasn't even considered rolling back. Any suggestions to help this along too?
Thanks.
Re: Rolling and sleeping
I don't really have any suggestions for you because my DS is right smack dab in the middle of this too. We started out rolling him back over but ended up getting up 6+ times a night. We tried wedging him between blankets but he'd always find a way to roll anyway.
We have been letting him CIO for the last couple of weeks and its been going well for us. Now he'll wake up a couple of times until he gets into a deep sleep but then he'll only wake up maybe once if he's hungry. Not perfect but definitely an improvement.
Good Luck!
