Will you share with me how you introduced solids? Did you continue
BFing on demand? Also, did you offer the solid food before or after a
BFing session? I'm not sure how I want to go about doing this. I'm
getting some opinions since I would like to try it out in a couple of
months.

Re: Share how you started solids.
DD is just about 5 months and we decided to start her on a tiny bit of solids this week. Pediatrician said it was ok, and I swear she appears hungry after BF, also she can sit up fine in a bumbo chair and shows interest in food.
So we started with a tiny bit of rice cereal and mixed in with breast milk. I mean like a tablespoon of cereal. First I fed it to her in the morning after a feeding and she just played with it and didn't eat much, then I tried again later that night and she sort of ate it.
So I'm still BFing on demand and just trying the feeding after a BFing session. I heard you shouldn't feed solids while they are too hungry? not sure and my aunt insists you should feed the baby when they are hungry so they actually eat the new food. I don't know. We're just feeding her about 2 times a day in the morning and at night and it seems to be going fine.
We will be trying mushed bananas later tonight. Also I read that avocados are a good started food an I had her try that the other day. She seemed to like it. I do know you are supposed to stick to one type of food for a few days in case the baby presents allergies.
We are just starting out very very slow getting her used to the feel of the food and the taste. She appeared to be actually swallowing some of the rice cereal today (day 3). And she seems very interested in the food, opens her mouth and smiles when you're feeding her so I think we're doing pretty well.
It's messy and so fun! She sticks her hands in her mouth while she "eats" then grabs her hair so she was a sticky mess earlier today

I still BF on demand, but LO eats regularly every 3hrs. I BF first and then offer the solid food(s). I rather LO fill up more on BM since that is the "good stuff" and then eat oatmeal and jar food afterwards. I read that them eating solids is more to get them use to eating foods, not really for nutrition. Good luck!
We went through all the cereal types; rice, barley and oatmeal. We did each type for a couple weeks before going to the next, 1x per day. We started feeding 2x (lunch and dinner) around 6 months of cereal. Now LO eats 3 Tbsp of oatmeal for lunch and 2 Tbsp of oatmeal and 1/3-1/2 of jar food at dinner.
