I would just like to see what everyone thinks about Jaelyn Emma as a girls name. We wanted something different but yet simple and it had to start with J. So any opinions will be appreciated thanks!
As a teacher, I would caution you that this is a very popular name right now. Not sure if that matters to you or not, but I have one class with three Jalyn/Jalen/Jaelyns in it right now.
I went to school for 12 years with a girl named Jaelyn, spelled the same way you intend. I always thought it was original and haven't seen it since (grad. in '95). I did see her last weekend with her two sons, and she looked like she'd grown up just fine, despite her name, according to some of these ladies. She did marry a man named Jay, which I find weird, but lots of people do that.
I see a name that is a mish mash of several popular trends right now: J names, Aidan names, and LYN names. It's trendy, dated and there will be (sadly) others in teh class with a similar name...all spelled differently.
In fact, it looks like you took your first initial and your LYNN and combined them. It also sounds like a verb...I'm Jailin' Emma.
Jaelyn looks made up, also if your name is Jenn(ifer) Lynn it is a little too matchy for me.
Emma is fine
That's the only reason I was questioning it, because of my middle name. (at the same time no one really knows my middle name I just used it on here because I didn't feel like playing the screen name game.) My FI actually picked it and he loves it. But I'm really second guessing it because of that fact. But we just can't seem to find any other name that "hits the spot" that starts with J.
Re: Advice on Jaelyn
Honestly, I really dislike Jaelyn. Emma is lovely though.
What about:
Juliana
Julia
Josephine
Johanna
Juliet
Joy
Jillian
BTW: You should probably remove your last name from your siggy photo.
Thanks for all the advice, I never knew it was such a popular name. (also never thought of the last name thing, defiantly will do!!)
Really dislike Jaelyn. There are so many other J names you can use
I like PPs suggestions. Especially Josephine, Juliet, and Jillian.
