Middle name for Katherine...

DH and I are considering the name Katherine for our little girl. We would call her Kate for short. However, we can not agree on a middle name... So what do you think of this name?:

Katherine Lee - too plain or does it work?

Re: Middle name for Katherine...

  • I think Katherine Lee is very pretty. :)

    Others...

    Katherine Irene

    Katherine Lucille

    Katherine Anna

    Katherine Sarah

    Katherine Daisy

    Katherine Ruby

    Katherine (family name here)

The good thing about Katherine is that it works with so many names. :)

  • It's okay, but it's plain, a bit boring, and frightfully common. While I think a good, basic name can be nice, this one is a combination of two very common, very plain names. I would look for something a little less common for the middle name, if I were you.
  • I don't like Lee at all. I LOVE Katherine/Kate.

    Katherine Anne/Anna

    Katherine Elizabeth

Katherine Louise (this is one of my friend's names)

    Katherine Hope

  • Katherine Lee is pretty sounding, but I prefer the spelling of Leigh.

Katherine Leigh is prettier looking imo.

    Nice name!

  • Katherine is my MN and our #1 girl's name.

    Our short list:

Katherine May (family name from DH's side)

    Katherine Elise

    Katherine Grace

  • Lots of good suggestions. Depending on how long your name is, Katherine Elisabeth would be pretty as well.

Is there a specific reason you chose Lee? If you like it, there is nothing wrong with Katherine Lee. :)

  • I'm a Katherine Elizabeth, so that's my pick.  I have always loved how regal sounding my name is.

  • Way too plain.  It has no character and I find it very boring.  I have a very plain and boring name like this (Leah Marie) and I always wished I had a cool mn.  I'm not saying you should do Katherine Nevaeh or anything like that, but I would definitely do something a bit more fun for the mn, since nobody ever uses it anyway.  What about something like:

    Katherine Beatrix

    Katherine Adair

    Katherine Blair

    Katherine Finley

  • I really don't like Lee with any name. My name is Katherine Margaret and I've always like the combination.
  • What about:

    Katherine Anna

    Katherine Elizabeth

    Katherine Renee

Do you have any family names you could use?

  • I actually know a Katherine Lee.  Friends call her "Katie Lee" sometimes... :)

My DD is Katherine Grace.  Others we considered:

    Katherine Jane

    Katherine Claire

    Katherine Anne

    Katherine Adair

    Katherine Adelle

    Katherine Wren

    Katherine Victoria

Most of these are family names of some kind.  I also have a friend whose daughter is Katherine Elizabeth which is pretty.  Long, but pretty.

  • My DD is Katherine Elizabeth, so that is my vote! It is also the name of England's soon to be princess, although a different spelling.
  • I'm Kathryn Marjorie and love my name.

  •

If you like Lee, how about "Leigh" to make it a little more special.

I was Cathryn Leigh (changed mn to maiden name) with a very unique English last name- not boring at all.

  • thank you for all of the suggestions! DH wanted to use the mn Lee because it's his middle name, but I haven't been too excited about it, however I know it means a lot to him. I do like the idea of changing the spelling though... we'll see!
