OMG: Mom killed while loading 2 year old in carseat

Has anyone else seen this?  South Sacramento Strip mall, mom is loading 2 year old into carseat and gets shot in chest.  Totally innocent, random victim.

Heartbreaking but not shocking. I work literally around the corner and this type of thing is not uncommon. So sad and unnecessary.

I used to work in the area when I was in college, and I agree.  Still so sad.

I can't read the story. It's too devestating to contemplate. Having a child my son's age see his mother killed?  Too damn awful.  How in the world does someone do that?  And how does the child ever recover from that?  C would never be able to forget it.  He remembers tiny little details of things he did 8 months ago for goodness sake.
