Not that this should have any bearing at all on your choice, but I'm a Spanish teacher and I have twin boys in the same class. Their "American" names are Matthew and Marc, so their "Spanish" names are Marco and Mateo.
Anyway... ."Matteo" is Italian, "Mateo" is Spanish, if that has any bearing on your decision. I personally like Marco, though.
I really like them. They have a fun cultural flair to them, but are still recognizable. If I met a kid named Marco or Matteo/Mateo, I would think he had a relly cool but sophisticated name.
When you said Marco, though, I did think "Polo" though.
Re: Marco or Mateo/Matteo???
Polo!
[I vote Mateo.]
Mateo
Love them both...i dont know which one to choose!
Matteo
no
Marco
no Matteo
either one but i prefer the TT
Me too - for this reason!
Love Mateo!
I think you'll get a lot of Marco... Polo... if you go with Marco (plus, it's a little fem to me, maybe because it's so similar to Margot)
