? about preventing scaring

any suggestions how to prevent one?  DS got a deep scratch between his eyes on his birthday 2 days ago, it was not a cut that could have required stitches but it was about 1 inch long.  I have been using Neosporin but any other suggestions?

My parents always swore by Vitamin E. Cut it open and apply. Not sure if it really helped but I always did it.

I alternate with neosporin/mederma/bacetracin, basically whatever we have on hand!

DS got stitches 6 months ago and the dr's said it wouldn't scar. I used kids mederma daily and he still has a scar.

I honestly thinks it depends on the child and their skin. I rarely scar. I got no stretch marks, never scar, never have marks or anything. Dh could stub his toe and get a scar. I think some people are just more prone to it.
