DD has slight spaces between her 3 bottom teeth. She is now getting her 2 front teeth and it looks like a rather large space. Will this be pushed together as she gets more teeth or is she destined to have a gap?
I read that it is worrisome if there ISN'T a space at first because when the other teeth come in they will push the front teeth closer together so they need the gap.
We have all kinds of gaps LOL... I figured it was normal.
Side note... seriously, you're little girl just couldn't be any cuter. You guys got great Christmas shots! She just looks so tiny and adorable!
lol, tiny isn't how I would describe her! hahaha....thanks though. Sometimes when I look at Carter's pics on facebook I think they could be related with those chubby cheeks! I wish she had more hair like him thought!
I was at the dentist about a month ago to get my teeth cleaned and asked the dentist about this. He said that as other teeth come in, they usually move the crooked or spaced out ones into place.

So I go onto facebook and there are more pictures of her... you are the reason I've gotten nothing done at work. You know that right? LOL

I work in pediatric dentistry and spaces are good. It helps when the larger permanent teeth come in, plus it's easier to keep them clean! No worries momma.

Ugh oh dd has NO space btw her bottom two. not quite sure what will happen with her top.
but if she has my mouth this doesn't surprise me. i had to wear and expander in my mouth, i had almost all of my teeth pulled bc i ddn't have enough room in my mouth anyway.
poor girl if she has to go through what i went through!!

hahaha, you reminded me that I had to add the rest!
I had a good sized gap between my front baby teeth growing up. However, when my adult teeth came in, there was no gap and my smile was so straight I never needed braces!
Like the others have said, gaps at this age are common to allow for more teeth to come in. But, even if she does end up with a gap it doesn't mean she's destined to have it forever

This, except, I use to work in pediatric dentistry.

Glad to hear this. My daughter has a decent gap between her top 2 middle. I had pretty screwed up teeth as a child and suffered through teasing, and an appliance and braces. My husband's teeth also aren't great. I so much do not want her going through what I did!
Re: Spaces between teeth...
Thanks! I love it. I didn't want anything too poofy.
