s/o excessive spit up :: Tip

Jamie reminded how much of a mess spit up makes on burp cloths in the post below.

Something I used to do that worked like a charm:  I kept a bottle of Dreft stain Remover hanging from the hamper in E's room. When she would soil a burp cloth (or her pants w/ a blowout), I'd spray the stain with Dreft before throwing it in the basket.

That way the stain wouldn't set if it took a couple days to do laundry.  The stains almost always came out in the wash, even if they sat for a few days.

Oh, and once she was mobile enough to get over to her hamper, she wasn't spitting up anymore, so there was no worry about her trying to eat the Dreft...cause she totally would have tried.

Just an idea :)

  • I do something similar for their bibs these days - I have a bucket with Napisan (like OxyClean) mixed with water sitting in the laundry sink. I just dump bibs, really messy clothing, etc. in there and it soaks until I do a load of laundry. It keeps stuff from staining and food from setting...I learned the hard way that leftover banana on a bib in a warm house for 2 days = mold. Ick!

SO jealous that you have a laundry sink!

SO not jealous that you had 2 days old banana on bibs - EW!

All laundries in Australia have sinks. Smile The way the washing machines are designed here, the water exit hose (or whatever the hell it's actually called lol) doesn't attach to a pipe - it has a lose end and you stick it into a special hole in the sink. So no sink = no washing machine drain.

Yeah, it was REALLY gross! Totally learned my lesson with that!
