Twins born after 38wks

I had my Dr. appointment today and will be 37wks tomorow.  Had a NST and everything is great.  Both babies are doing great, and I don't have any medical problems either.  I just knew they would talk induction for next week if I didn't deliver before 38wks, but the Dr. said that since the babies look good and I'm doing good we wouldn't even discuss it until next weeks appointment.  He even went on to say that he didn't see why we couldn't go to 39wks!  I had worried so long about PTL that I never anticipated going this long.  I am so lucky and blessed the babies are doing great and will be healthy weights.  I just wanted to know if anyone else has had any experience with having twins after 38wks.

Great job cookin those babies!  I was induced at 38w1d.  I too kept thinking I would deliver much earlier.  Then it turned out I had to be induced to get them out!

I was induced 38 weeks and 2 days.

I also thought that I would have mine much earlier then I did. I had a c-section at 38w5d.

I had a scheduled c/s at 38 weeks 1 day.  I could have gone longer since the babies were doing fine, but I had such bad swelling that I just wanted them out.  If the swelling wasn't so bad I would have waited until 38 weeks 5 days when my favorite OB was on call at the hospital.

My water broke at exactly 38 weeks. I delivered two healthy babies vaginally. Baby A was 5lbs 10oz and Baby B was 6lbs 1 oz.

My peris had the same goal once they saw my progress--they typically delivered twins by/at 38 wks, but they aimed to let me continue on til 39 wks.I was glad to have carried that long.

I was induced at 38wks, 5 days simply b/c of the 2 peris that I was seeing, the one who saw me most throughout my pg  could schedule me w/ him at 38w5d, so I went with that date. I attempted vaginal but converted to a c/s due to the way my one baby repositioned and basically blocked off my other baby from further descending down.

I had my boys at exactly 39 weeks, Wyatt was 6lbs13ozs and Grayden was 6lbs8ozs. They were perfect and left with me after 3 days!!

I was induced at 38w5d, delivered vaginally. My induction was a great experience too.. everything happened pretty fast.

I went to 38w 3d. They showed zero signs of trying to come out any time soon. Zero contractions, zero dilation. Had my scheduled c-section. I assumed they were coming out earlier. At the time I was annoyed because I was sooooo uncomfortable. But when I gained my brain back, I was so happy that they made it so long and came out healthy and happy.

Thanks for all the encouraging stories of success!  I am pretty miserable, but I know that it is best for the babies.  I just can't wait for them to come out and meet us!!!!

I was induced at 38w1d because I was dilated to 5cm and my OB didn't want me walking around that dilated anymore.  I labored for 8 hours, pushed for 2.5 and delivered both vaginally.  You're doing great- almost there!

I'm in the same boat with you! ?I'm not dilated at all, and I'm in the 38th week. ?I'm going back to the doctor tomorrow, so we'll see if I might get induced either this Thursday or next Monday. ?

I had a schedule c-sec at 39w1d, because Baby A was measuring a pound bigger and was breech.  I had no signs of going into labor, every week my doctor would check, laugh and just shake his head.

You all give me hope!!  I'm only 21 weeks and I'm feeling great!  My boss is really starting to worry about how long I'll be at work, though.  He thinks I look like I'm ready to have the babies now.  I've told him my plan is to make it to my 35th week and then start my maternity leave.  I'm hoping to keep the babies cooking as long as I can once I'm off work.
