DIY Cloth Wipes

So I am considering making some cloth wipes, but I wanted to get some opinions on what kinds of fabrics to use and about how many I should make.  I have a TON of those cheap flannel blankets that I never used that I have thought about cutting up and using.  I also have quite a bit of scrap fleece lying around, however I'm also always looking for an excuse to go to the fabric store.  What would you ladies suggest I use?

I use flannel on one side and terry on the other.
