NPR but I just have to share my excitement

My DH just finished up his bachelor's degree.  It's been a long and hard ride.  He dropped out of college when he was 19 and the degree has been a huge monkey on his back since before we met.

He did earn his associate's degree about 2 years ago and that motivated him to get his bachelor's.  He entered a program where he went to school every other Friday night (4 hours) and Saturday (8 hours) for nearly 2 years.  He went through and informal ceremony yesterday for Dec. graduates (they only hold one commencement in May).  I was in tears when I saw B.S. Organizational Leadership under his name.

I'm so proud of him!  I'm also throwing him a surprise party next weekend to celebrate and he has no idea.  It's been so hard to keep it a secret.

He almost found out when he saw the package of invites come in the mail.  Luckily he didn't open it when I said they were invites to DS's b-day party.

That's truly awesome.  He deserves a huge party!  I can't imagine going back to school as an adult and parent, so I admire anyone who can.
