Intro and a Question

Hi Ladies.  First off, my name is Brandi and my husband and I have been TTC for 15 months.  I was diagnosed with PCOS in Jan of this year, began Metformin, lost 20lbs and started charting.  I got a BFP Thursday and I have a question.

I have this strange dull ache in my lower abdomen.  I don't think it's even in the region of my ute but I could be wrong.  It seems too high to be that.  I almost think it might be a UTI, but I'm not sure.  I've been in a constant state of nausea for 4 days so I've been downing water and ginger ale like it's going out of style.  Short of calling my doctor, which I'm doing tomorrow morning anyway, I'm kind of nervous about the ache based on some research I found on this site.

 Has anyone else felt this?  I feel like I'm losing my mind and way over-analyzing things, but I'm so afraid we're going to lose this baby that I can't help it.  Any advice you can give me is greatly appreciated.

  • Welcome and congrats!!! I am also a PCOS girl.

    I have felt a ton of twinges, pulls, cramps, aches, etc that has been FREAKING me out. Tomorrow is my first u/s so i'm hoping that will help calm my nerves.

    My RE assured me that there is no need to worry unless you start seeing bright red blood. I wouldn't let it shake you up too much until you speak with them directly.

    I know I can't help much. Just know i'm thinking of ya!!

  • Thanks Jessie! I think I just need to relax.  I actually called my doctor on Friday but they closed at noon and when they called me back, my phone didn't ring and it was 1230 so I didn't get to talk to them.  I'm not sure if I'm supposed to keep taking the Metformin.  We'll see tomorrow.  Good luck to you!  Keep us updated!   • Welcome and congrats! There are a ton of weird random twinges and pains that are all normal during pregnancy. Try not to freak yourself out too much. (;

  • Welcome and congrats! I have PCOS too. I think as long as it isn't intense pain, it's pretty normal. I have had some mild pulling twinges and AF like cramps on and off since my BFP, and AF like cramps for 5 days straight beforehand.

    My advice is to definetly keep taking the Metformin. (Not to freak you out) but my RE said he sees more of a m/c rate with those not taking their meds for PCOS.

    Good luck!! Sending you positive vibes! :)

  • Welcome! I had dull cramps also. They seem to be stronger at the begining of week 4. They have pretty much went away now (knock on wood).

    Congrats on your BFP!

  • Congrats & welcome! If it helps at all, I've also been having some pulling, pinching and general cramping ever since before my BFP. Actually, that's how I knew something was different this cycle and I figured I was pregnant so I tested early, it was unlike anything I'd ever had before.  I am still having it but a little less now.
