Best areas/school districts in LI

Hi there Ladies,

My brother in law got a very good job offer in the city, and they will be moving from NC over the summer.  Any rec's on areas with the best school districts in LI with the shortest commute to the city? TIA

    garde city, manhassett, rockville center are all very strong with short commutes

    All the above from pp are very good. Carle Place is fantastic too, and it is a very small close knit community. Oceanside is also very good but quite large.

    Massapequa, although it is a little bit more of a commute, has an excellent school district.

    if you want a short commute to Manhatten just make sure you pick a town that is very close to the LIE. The Southern State or the North Shore is a PITA to commute. My husband does it every day-we are on the North Shore.

    Garden City's budget didn't pass this year.  

    Jericho, Manhasset, and Rockville Centre have great school districts with easy commutes.
