You can call me Bella and I am fairly new on the boards, though I have been a longtime lurker. Me and my fiance have been trying to responsibly and patiently wait until the time is right to try and conceive (he graduates with his second degree in May, and that is when the wedding is planned) .

The main reason I find myself joining right now is to ask questions, because I find myself with a strange series of symptoms which point towards early pregnancy, though I am on the pill (and have been, uninterruped, with no inactive pills for over a year).

Hello and welcome! Phantom symptoms can be a bear... especially when you want nothing more than for them to be real! The best way to know is to take a pregnancy test. I have 'em every month, and usually enough BFP and giving birth dreams to drive me crazy.

It sounds like you an soon-to-be-DH have a good plan in place! I definitely recommend lurking, reading the newbie link at the top of the TTGP board, and charting. All have been a big help to me.

I have had phantom symptoms before, and they usually went away right before I took a test. But two evenings ago I had about three menstrual-like cramps and when I peed in the morning I had dark brown spotting. Since I have never ever had any breakthrough bleeding I immediately did some research and maybe it is implantation?

Welcome, Bella!  I took BC uninterrupted for several years, but still spotted at least once or twice per year, complete with cramping.  I Googled my symptoms and that was the first time I heard about implantation bleeding.  I got all worked up about the possibility of pregnancy, when in fact it was just a little breakthrough bleeding.

Thanks for the welcome Clara! I know that it could be breakthrough bleeding, even though it has never happened before, but I am hoping its not. Also as an experiment I stopped taking my BCPs. Normally if I miss a pill by two hours I start cramping, and if I go about six hours I start spotting, and nothing has happened so far. They could both just be flukes, but the way I figure if I go another 2-3 days without my pill and I don't start withdrawal bleeding I need to call my fiance of course he is out of town til new years!

Well, firstly I would have to say that easily Umbridge is the worst HP character by far. Secondly, I have to defend myself by stating that my preference is for the name, not the character. In my family they name a baby after it is born, with input from parents, grandparents, and siblings. The other name in the running was Bellatrix Madeline (which my three brothers came up with) and they have always called me Bella thereafter. It confuses people, because the name I did end up with is nothing like that one.
