[First a quick intro (since I don't have any posts yet!) - I joined The Knot when I was engaged, and now that my husband and I have decided on TTC beginning this summer, I have been looking around on The Bump recently!]
WDYT of the name Marielle (pronounced like Mary - Elle)? We really like it - not too common, and sounds somewhat classic. Our only problem is coming up with a MN to go with it. We can't seem to find any MN that have a good flow with Marielle. I think it needs a MN that is two syllables and the second syllable is accented (i.e. Brianne), but all the ones we come up with that follow that pattern are not my favorite!
Re: WDYT?
You might have better luck with flow if you use one or 3+ syllable names.
Marielle Ann
Marielle Elizabeth
Marielle Avery
Yeah, we have discussed that too. I just haven't found any one syllable names we really like. (We like Ann, actually, but our last name starts with an N, so I feel like that would sound weird altogether.)
As for three syllables - definitely a possibility, but our last name is 3 syllables, so it could become a mouthful. I do love how Marielle Elizabeth sounds.
Not sure about the "L" sounds right together, though. We kind of nixed Marielle Elise for the same reason.
How about...
Marielle Jane
Marielle Rae
Marielle Ione
Marielle Paisley
Marielle Fiona
Marielle Patrice
Marielle Rebecca
Marielle Charlotte
Marielle Elise
I love Marielle Fiona!
I really like the name Marielle, though I've never seen it spelled that way before. I've seen Muriel and Mariel---both pronounced the same.
If you're struggling with finding MNs with the right stress, maybe you could use a one syllable MN. Blythe, Fae, Grace, Jane, Rose, Joy, and Anne all sound great with Marielle.
Jane.....its cute
