My sister's having a c-section in 3 hours.

Baby looks big and heart rate is uneven since they checked in for her induction. Doc said she could try the induction but it could end in emergency c-section, so they're electing to skip the induction altogether. I'm headed there soon--my sis is terrified and has wanted to avoid a c-section at all costs from the day she found out she's pregnant. In any case, my nephew will be here soon! I'm taking a squishy pillow and getting food for her DH. Any other suggestions?

  • Aww, congrats to her...and you!  C Sections aren't that bad although I understand first time moms wanting to avoid them.  I felt the same way when I had E but in hindsight it was the best decision.  I may be odd, but even as cold as it was in the hospital, I still needed a small fan (just like a small oscillating table top fan) because I was burning up!  Must have been the hormonal surges!  That's all I can think of.  The pain meds. should take care of the rest!  ;-)

  • She did really well! He was born at 2:45ish at 8 lbs. 7 oz. so not as big as they'd feared, but she's happy with the decision to go that route vs a potential failed induction. I'm an aunt! :)
