I'm really freaking out- baby with "hidden penis"?

Hi Ladies, I'm getting concerned. My LIttle boy is 3 months old. He is circumcised and for the last month or so DH and I hVe been noticing his penis is kind of retracted inside of itself everytime we change his diaper. It is very easy to "pop back out" if we press on the base and the circumcision looks like it healed fine with no adhesions or anything but I'm worried About it. I started googling and I saw all this stuff about micropenis and gender issues.... But I also read that this is common if your baby is chubby which ours is and that the fat pas where his pubic bone is causes it to do this and he will grow out of it. I am going to take himto the doctor next week but am wondering if any of your son's penises are like this? Thanks for listening.

Yup.  Mine is the same way.  Luckily my pedi warned me about this at our first visit.   He's a chubby little guy and the fat pads make it look like its going to disappear!

I noticed DS looks like that too sometimes. This week especially but he's also starting to get chubby I wouldn't worry too much. Our ped checks it out at each appointment so I'm sure he'll alert us if it's not a normal thing.

what a funny topic to talk about..  but yes, my little porker's penis looks like that sometimes too. it's like the turtle has gone back into it's shell

Thank you all SO much. I don't remember DS 1 having this problem so I was concerned. I feel much better now!

I had the same concern and asked about it at our 4 month appt. My pedi said the same thing's to blame: chubbiness.

huh my son's does that. He is REALLY chubby. I never thought about it though. My pediatrician checks him out so I assume its normal.

It's hiding in the chub.    I was reading somewhere (Men's Health maybe) that this happens in grown men and is an added motivation for some guys to drop a few pounds...

Our DS#1 had this and now, at age 4, he's fine.  He DID have adhesions as a baby that we had to take care of, but he outgrew it.  Give it some time and I'm guessing he'll be fine.  My DH had to have his circ revised when he was 3 or so because it wasn't done properly the first time.  I was afraid that our DS#1 would have to have the same problem but luckily he didn't.

Yep...completely normal. My DS had this until he was about 1. He started thinning out and it started looking normal again. I was also worried about it, but it is exactly as all the PP's said simply a fat pad.

Both my sons have/had it.  DS2 (4 months old) definitely has it and he's very chubby (20lbs.)  but I'm not worried because DS1 had it too and he was very chubby  and around 2yrs old it started to appear and stay that way, it has retracted since.  So don't worry it's most likely because he's chubby.
