2nd timers have your major symptoms changed from last time?

With my first I immidiately knew I was pregnant b/c my boobs started aching from, like, conceptionStick out tongue This time around I feel NOTHING in my boobs! My hips are killing me though and I didn't have hip pain until 36w last time. I know everytime is different...just looking for some reassurance. Also going crazy because I STILL haven't had my first appointment. Boo Kaiser for not being able to "fit me in" until Dec 15. Seriously? I'll be in my 2nd tri by thenSurprise

Re: 2nd timers have your major symptoms changed from last time?

  • Yes - this is my third. My boobs were really sore the first time, barely sore the second time, and not sore in the least bit this time. I was nauseous for 6w with DD1, and threw up a handful of times. I puked daily with DD2 for the whole first tri. This time, I'm finally starting to not be sick. I didn't puke daily, but probably every other day (on average) and sometimes multiple times in a day this time. I had minor aversions the first two times. This time my aversions have been out of control - for a while there I literally couldn't bring myself to eat sweets, fruit, veggies, vitamins, dairy, some meats. Now I can eat most of that stuff, but tomato sauce still grosses me out, as do some sweets.

  • Yep, I have had a lot more nausea this time. WAY more. I haven't thrown up but I'm nauseous every morning and lots of evenings. Foods that made me feel better last time sound terrible this time (gingerale). My sense of smell isn't as strong this time.

  • Yep, no boobie pain for me this time around.

So far, m/s was a little worse (but I'm sure changing diapers all day long didn't help).  Plus, no headaches with this one so far.  I had such bad headaches with DS starting about this time, so hopefully I'll avoid those this time

Oh, and I've actually lost weight with this one!  With DS, I had already gained 12lb by now (and overall I ended up gaining over 60!  yikes!!), so I'm very happy that so far I haven't let myself completely pig out  :)

  • Its been so long since I was pg with my daughter that its hard to remember! lol But all in all I seem to have less symptoms this time around. I had more m/s with DD and not much at all with this one. Although I never actually puked with either one. But with this one I have had more 'gas' problems (for lack of a better word) lol. If I eat something that doesnt agree with me or I eat too much at once, my lower intestine will literally feel like I have a blockage. It's terrible. But since I moved into 2nd tri, that has seemed to lessen as well. I feel like I have NO symptoms now. I dunno if that is a good or bad thing tho?

  • I am much, much more sick this time around.  I felt like I wasn't quite as tired, but that could be because I simply didn't have the option to be this time, you know?  like, with #1, I could just come home after work & collapse on the couch & tell DH to fend for himself for dinner.  But this time, I still had to muster up some sort of energy & at least attempt to get something on the table.

I've had bad tailbone pain (which is really random) and I'm definitely showing much sooner, but I guess that's pretty common.  OH, and my face looks like a teenager right now...I'm so sick of the breakouts!

  • So far, it's different.  I knew I was pregnant the 1st because of boob pain (& darkening, TMI).  I also just felt off.  This time I had a day of lower back pain as my only symptom before I tested. And I am tired but can't dwell on it because of DD1 but I don't remember being that tired in my first tri last time.

My most noticible symptom is that I'm winded when I walk up a flight of stairs or move quickly.  It feels like something is sitting on my chest.  I recover quickly but it's odd.  And I way 20 pounds less than the start of my first pregnancy and never was out of breath then either.

  • This pregnancy has been a complete 180 for me. I had no nausea or sickness with the first one. This time not to lucky. I also had a lot of head aches and hip pain with the first one, none so far this time around. It really is crazy how different the same process can be for each pregnancy. My family and friends keep telling me it must be a boy because the pregnancies have been so opposite.
  • I think most of us don't have the sore boobs because the milk glands are already matured from first pregnancy. I have had pretty much the same symptoms (except boob soreness) as last...and it's not good. I feel terrible most days, especially in the afternoons. Nothing sounds good to me to eat, but if I don't eat I feel really sick. Food is like the enemy! I also have lower back aches, trouble sleeping at times...all the fun stuff!! :)

  • I was super sick for about the first 4 months with DS.  This time I have vomited once, I have had some nausea but nothing near like I had the first time.  That has been the major difference so far.  I'm tired all the time and seem to have a similar aversion to Mexican food again. It is the strangest thing that I don't seem to enjoy Mexican food when I'm pg.  I've loved it my whole life but something about my babies in my belly turns me off.  Oh, well.  I really can't complain.

  • So far things have been very different. Lots of m/s, heightened sense of smell, tiredness, insomnia, food/smell aversions, and lots of backache. I never had back pain with DS even at the end.
