My doctor suggested Miralax, but I think that may have a stimulant in it, which makes me nervous. I have read about people using colace and milk of magnesia. What's the difference between these and which is safer? What would PgAL use? I have to do something about this constipation!!!!

Re: Safest for constipation?
Best food remedy: a salad of raw kale.
Medicinal remedy: Colace ... and when desperate times call for desperate measures, a Fleet or saline enema.
Not terribly pleasant, but better than not going for a week, IMO. I think the concern with enemas is that you shouldn't become dependent on them.
Yes I am on progesterone for 2 more weeks. I know that's part of the problem so I am hoping it eases up once I am off the progesterone. The weird thing is, I have been on it since 4dpo, and the constipation didn't kick in until this past week! DH is picking up some colace....praying it works but I am so paranoid about taking things.

Ashley, are you ignoring my replies??!?? I told you to take 2 colace 2 times a day! Take the one w/Senna laxitive (Vegetable based and much easier as far as s/e goes) GL!
Shredded Wheat...
The mini ones Blueberry Muffin flavor are delicious! I also do a Colace too if I need to.
I tried Metamucil for a while, but I think it was too much for me as it made me have (TMI) loose stools. I don't think my body likes FIber pills or powders as I always seem to have the loose stools if I take them.
Surprisingly, I did not have constipation issues on the progesterone, mine hit with 2nd Trimester....

I heard you girl, and DH was supposed to pick up colace on his way home, but he didn't get it because it said on the box to "contact your doctor if pregnant".....

Colace works okay for me, but Miralax is the only thing that really gets things "moving." I didn't notice any issues with it being a stimulant.
