reaching for things

When did you notice LO reaching and grabbing things? Juliana discovered her hands but hasn't reached for anything yet. Just curious

Re: reaching for things

  • J isn't yet. I notice he's trying to figure it out tho. He'll have his hand near it, and be looking at whatever it is. haha

  • He reaches out and grabs my hair but I am not sure thats what he wants to be reaching for. C will also sometimes put his hands on mine or grab my thumb or fingers on the hand holding the bottle when I am feeding him, then tries to pull that hand closer.

  • I realize that she is ridiculously early, but T has started batting at toys. She will bat at the toys in her bouncer and I hang a toy bar over her pack n play she will bat at those also. Sometimes it scares her a bit when she hits them, but she is definitely looking at the toys and swatting at them. I had to take a video for my mom because she didn't believe me.

My LO is doing this too! I thought it was coincidence, but when I put a toy close to his other hand (which he wasn't using and had firmly at his side) he started batting with both hands! He's definitely trying to hit the toys and not just randomly moving.

DS has been doing this for a while too.  He first started with his mobile above his swing.  He would look at it, but it was so neat to see when discovered that he could use his hands to touch it.  Now he has started to reach for more and more objects other than things right above him.  He will grab his burp clothes from beside me and toys.
