Gallbladder update :/

Well, my gallbladder is perfectly normal...BUT...they discovered a 5mm kidney stone!  That's not the source of the pain.  Luckily, it's not obstructing anything, otherwise, I'd be in a lot of pain!  If I have symptoms, they may have to take it out  Indifferent

  • OMG!  Sorry!

Wait - so what is the source of the pain? Any idea?

  • Since the u/s, the pain diminished and is not causing any problems.  I wonder if I pulled a muscle with all of the coughing a couple weeks ago.

  • It could still be your gall bladder.  I have trouble with mine off and on.  My u/s came back clear, but that just means that you don't have gall stones.  That doesn't necessarily mean that you don't have low function though.  My mom and sister had perfectly clear u/s but had super low functionality when they had the hyda-scan (sp??).  They both had lots of pain when they ate, but not all the time.  I would keep an eye on it and if it keeps coming back you may want to request they take a closer look.  That's what I'm doing now and if my pain keeps coming back, they'll order the scan and go from there.

I hope it was just a pulled muscle for you though!!!!  The pain sucks when it comes on.  (And boo to having a 5mm kidney stone.  I hope it doesn't cause you any trouble!)

Good point...I still think it's weird that it worsened after meals...and the pain was located right where the gallbladder would be.  I'm still suspicious of it...

  • I'm glad you are feeling better and hope it was a fluke!
  • Thank you!

I just hope it doesn't interfere with our TTC timeline and future pregnancy Confused

If it flares up during pregnancy, I would have to pass it rather than then taking it out.  Not ideal for me since it is a bigger stone. I'm going to ask my RE and OB if they think it should be taken care of before attempting our IUI...or to just wait and see.
