Cloth Diapering

Preparing for solid poop...

My DS will start solids in about a month and I am thinking about how his poop will change (lovely thoughts, right?).  For those of you who use disposable liners, do you line the diaper every time?  Right now he predictably poops every morning but I wonder if this will change.  Also, when you are out and about do you put the poopy diaper in your wetbag and wait until you are home to dump the poop?

Thanks for your help!

  • I did use liners for those early "peanut butter-y" poops, but no, not every time.  They're kind of a pita.  It's really not at all a big deal (especially after having a potty trained child who often went in his undies) to swish it in the toilet.

For those early ones, yeah, I would put it in the wetbag and deal with it at home, unless it was a really big one.  Now, they just dump out, so I do it in the bathroom when we are out and about.

  • I use diaposable liners until he poops in the morning. He is usually pretty predictable. If he doesn't poop in the morning I use the liners for the rest of the day.

  • Liners are too much of a PITA.  I flush the solid poops when we are at home.  Then I just do one rinse/spin cycle and then a wash on whitest whites setting.  Yes, I put the whole dipe in the bag until we get home.  Sunning with lemon juice has gotten rid of all and any stains.  I use half BG organic OS and half OS fuzzibunz.
