Theme: We have red, green and gold ornaments in various color combinations and glitter designs + all of our personal ornaments. I'd rather have 100% mismatched personal ornaments, but we don't have enough yet.
Lights: White
Garland: Normally we have a white, green and red ribbon, but I kinda forgot it. LOL! I was wondering why the tree looked so different this year.
1. What's your tree topper? A sparkly star. Ashli picked it out because of the sparkles.
2. Is your tree themed, or just an assortment or ornaments? Well...it is kind of themed. I liked go with Red and Silver but with the kids it is difficult. It is mostly silver and red with a few assorted ornaments here and there.
3. White or colored lights? White on tree and white outside with a little bit of red and white mixed in on the front porch.
4. Any kind of garland (popcorn, beaded, etc.)? Usually have beads but I forgot them this year and it is fine without. I have ribbon draped down and I think that gives it a nice touch.
One has a gold bow, two trees have feathers, and the other two trees have a variety of beaded and swirly floral picks as the toppers.
2. Is your tree themed, or just an assortment or ornaments?
Our main tree is an assortment of ornaments that we've collected since before we got married. The kitchen trees have brown and gold ornaments, the dining room tree has blue and silver and the tree in the office has bright green and turquoise ornaments.
3. White or colored lights?
All white lights.
4. Any kind of garland (popcorn, beaded, etc.)?
I have simple beaded garland on 3 of the 5 trees, none on the other two. Not really sure why.
1. We have an angel, but it's not something sentimental to me, just one that my mom passed on as extra.
2. Assortment of sentimental ornaments, including all of mine from my childhood. When we are in our "forever" home I hope to have multiple trees. My vision includes a few smaller, themed trees and then our big tree where Santa will deliver the gifts. I think the big tree will always have all the sentimental ornaments on it.
3. I like white, but DH won this battle, and we do colored.
4. Nope, although I love the music staff garland from PB. I would totally use that on a themed tree in the future.
2. Is your tree themed, or just an assortment or ornaments?
Glitter. Is that a theme? Oh, I know! The theme is red, gold and brown. I found a brown damask ribbon and fell in love with it, and so my red and gold tree got revamped.
1. We didn't have one until this year. I made one like this one from pottery barn using glitter and a piece of scrapbook paper.
2. ditto kelly, I would love to have all personal ornaments too, but we don't have enough (and I'm anal and only want one ornament per year for DH & I - future LOs will get one a year/each). So I have a ton of filler ornaments (cheap balls, snowflakes, acorns, etc.)
3. White incandescents - I just can't do the LEDs, they're too blue to me.
4. We have a burlap & red ribbon around the tree. I love it, it looks great!
Lights: well, both actually. i put white lights toward the center of the tree and color over the rest of it. and a ton of them. about 10 strands i believe.
Garland: none. we used to use some but it broke and we decided we like it without. i always look at it, but never can decide on any that i really like.
1. Main tree - Lighted star; Front tree - Big red bow
2. Just an assortment of ornaments for both. Someday I'd like a "fancy" tree in the front room, but until the girls are older, that's just a dream.
3. Colored lights on both. I love white lights, DH loves colored. I let him win on this one.
4. Main tree - silver tinsel garland. I wanted beads, but Haley loves beads and it would be a disaster. She leaves the tinsel alone. Front tree doesn't have any garland.
1. What's your tree topper? Searching for one we like, possibly an angel or star if we can find a glitter free one we like
2. Is your tree themed, or just an assortment or ornaments? I do themed, Dh does assortment. We made a compromise and do both. Currently though the top half of our tree has teal and purple and gold and some of the breakable "special" ornaments. And a green and teal and gold tree skirt. We have a beautiful santa tree topper that matches but he's too special to risk this year.
My little tree (3ft) still has matching ornaments.
3. White or colored lights? White on the big tree. Both on the small tree
4. Any kind of garland (popcorn, beaded, etc.)?No garland. We have glass icicles but um not so much this year!
Next year we're doing green and white/silver ornaments. Green and white tree skirt for the big tree. (this year my parents gave us their old ornaments and stuff - the matching stuff)
2. Is your tree themed, or just an assortment or ornaments?
We have four trees. Our main big one in our living room is an assortment of ornaments, no theme. The one in the kitchen is a gingerbread theme. The one in the dining room is a Boyd's bear theme and the little one in Gracie's room is Disney princess themed.
3. White or colored lights?
The themed trees have white, our main tree has colored.
4. Any kind of garland (popcorn, beaded, etc.)?
Not really, our main tree has some silver beads draped here and there.
2. Ornaments: A lot of handmade ones my mom has given me, ones I've collected on my travels, the Hallmark series that I collect, and some heirloom ones. I have the rudolph ornament my gma had when she was a little girl, plus the one I had when I was little and two ornaments from my other gma's tree that date to the 30s.
3. Lights: White on the tree, colored outside. Also strict on that.
1. Nothing. We had a star but we have this one strand of lights that whatever you plug into it then doesn't work so the lit star got the axe somewhere along the way. Whenever we buy our next tree we'll get all new lights, the weird strand makes me wonder.
2. Love? We get eachother an ornament a year and we've each gotten L one the last two years plus she got one for DH last year too. I counted the boxes and we have 27 keepsake ornaments this year. I did put out other random stuff but this is the second year that we haven't put out ball type ornaments.
3. White, but DH loves colored, this is my hang up on getting a pre-lit tree.
4. We used to do red ball garland but I forgot it last year and this year i didn't find until right before I was done decorating so I skipped it.
1. What's your tree topper? A LED snowflake, with Micky & Minnie 2. Is your tree themed, or just an assortment or ornaments? It is a hodge podge of ornaments. I LOVE glitter ones though, so it has lots of those.3. White or colored lights? White pre-lit4. Any kind of garland (popcorn, beaded, etc.)? None, but I may do ribbon next year.

Re: Christmas tree poll
Topper: a tiny little knit ND hat. See photo below - you can kinda see it. We're in need of a "real" topper but I can't find one I like.
Theme: no theme, just a collection of childhood and recent ornaments, all colors, all styles.
Lights: white, but I'm warming up to the idea of colored lights for Ella. Incandescent, though...I can't do LED.
Garland: normally simple gold beads (see below), but I forgot them this year and Brian said he liked it without. Bah humbug.
Topper: Don't have one

2. assortment of ornaments with meaning - some from our childhoods - with a few plain gold and silver balls mixed in
3. white
4. no garland
Topper: An angel, I want a star but can't find one I like.
Theme: We have some personal ornaments, but not many. We have red and gold ornaments to fill the rest.
Lights: White.
Garland: Nothing. We tried beads one year, but the cats liked to play with them.1. Topper: Angel. I'm pretty strict on that.
2. Ornaments: A lot of handmade ones my mom has given me, ones I've collected on my travels, the Hallmark series that I collect, and some heirloom ones.
