I will be delivering in Hartford Hospital and Im unsure how to go about finding the right doula for me. I do not know much about these services. Does anyone know any info., or have any names of someone they recommend?? Thanks
Doulamatch.net should give you quite a few listings, from different certifying organizations and levels of experience and price. You can usually see someone's availability calender as well.

You should interview several doulas to find the right fit! Ask the Google for a list of questions. You want to find someone who will support you and your needs, not have their own birth plan for you.
As an aside, I'm a doula and I totally work at Hartford Hospital, as do some very excellent doulas I know in the area. DoulaMatch is a pretty good website too because most doulas do try to keep their calendars there updated so you aren't calling lots of doulas who aren't available when you are due.
If you havent already found one I highly recommend my doula named Sarah 203.684.2533(Mobile) [email protected] I hired her when I was about 8 1/2 mos. Tell her Gabby sent you.
Re: Finding a Doula??
try birth partners, i think they travel up that way
good luck and congrats!
