My LO has eating issues and is going to be evaluated at a center for these sort of issues. They want us to bring in a food she will eat, in her case a puree. And a food we think she should eat at this stage.
She will eat a cheerio once in a while-and I mean a cheerio. We have tried pasta and no go and so on.So please give me a list of foods you think a 15 month old should eat and what your kid eats.
She will not eat yogurt-which I think she should eat, correct?
TIA
Re: what should a 15 be able to eat?
I'm not going to be of much help here, but DS is 15mo and he'll eat pretty much anything we put in front of him. We're all done with purees and making baby food. He's eating mostly table food now. The only exception is juice and fruit & cereal bars, and whole fat yogurt.
Have you tried bananas? Puffs (about the same size as a cheerio, but easily dissolved in the mouth)? Different brands of purees? (DS seemed to prefer some Beechnut things over some Gerber things after we were out of the basic purees stage - I was making those myself)
Does your DD have her molars yet? That should be a huge help in what she's able to eat.
Breakfast: Eggo, pancake, cereal bar, fruit cut and peeled, raisin toast
Lunch/Dinner: grilled cheese cut into strips, fish, veggie burger cut into squares, pasta, chicken nuggets, they don't like ground meats for some reason
Snacks: goldfish, graham crackers, fruit cut and peeled, cheese sliced or sticks
Mine won't eat cheerios but they like chex or crispix. They really eat anything we do except raw veggies, they eat raw fruits though. They will eat yogurt and applesauce but that's really the only thing pureed they will take anymore, they don't want me to feed them. Maybe its a texture thing with your LO? I would ask if you could maybe mix real oatmeal into the baby oatmeal, or pieces of soft/steamed fruit in with the pureed fruits, things like that to give more texture and give her the feel for chewing and using her tongue to move food around in her mouth to help make the transition to real table food. Hope they can give you some good ideas! (just give her a donut and let her go nuts!!)
My LO is not yet 15 months but I think it's hard to determine what a typical 15 month old eats since they are all so different from each other but my friends 16 month old eats pretty much everything that the mom and dad eat.
I'm sorry you're going through this! sounds so hard. I just took my son to a nutritionist tuesday b/c my son has a lot of allergies and it's really hard to feed him. he wants everything he can't have but none of the things he can so he pretty much eats oatmeal for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The nutritionist was able to give me ideas but so far it's been 2 days and not a change. I make him THIS pasta that he actually does like which has protein in it. i also make him THIS pizza dough and put rice cheese on it and he sometimes likes it. If he could eat puffs all day long he would.
I can just imagine how stressful this must be. good luck! hope the test will be a success!
