Intro and a Tricare Billing Question

Hi!

This is my first post here. My DH was AD AF from 2004-2008, got out and got a civilian job doing the same thing (avionics) he did in the AF for an airline. He recently re-activated his reserve status from IRR and we're switching our health insurance to Tricare Reserves Select after the new year (our current health insurance is outrageously expensive)

Anyway, neither my OB or our DDs pediatrician bill Tricare directly, but both said we could bill them and be reimbursed. Has anyone done this? Is it fairly easy or a major PITA? I love both doctors, but would be willing to switch if it's too much of a hassle (or not possible) to bill them ourselves.

Thanks and I look forward to posting on here more :)

Re: Intro and a Tricare Billing Question

  • I'm not entirely positive how Tricare Reserves Select works since DH is AD AF and we have Prime but when I had my wisdom teeth pulled I went through an office that didnt' bill Tricare/United Concordia directly.  Basically I just had to print the forms off the internet, have them filled out and mail or fax in all the reciepts...it wasn't THAT big of a pain in the butt....but it was stressful making sure I had everything filled out just right
