In addition to hating toothpaste...

I just hate this metallic taste in my mouth all freakin' day long! Get this. I brush my teeth 3 times a day and floss at least once. Everytime after I brush my teeth, I have to have either 1/2 a toast or a cracker. After having gone over 5 big boxes of crackers, the very thought of it now makes me nauseated. So anyway, now I have just a piece of graham crackers after I brush my teeth. Yes every after I brush my teeth, even as I am laying down in bed! Gahhh!! My teeth will rot by the time I have this baby.

Thanks for letting me vent. I know I'm being very whiney today. I haven't been able to reply to a post without whining about my own misery. I'm terrible today! Crying

  • I switched to the citrus flavored toothpaste. It is kinda gross, but for whatever reason it doesn't bother me like the mint does. Try it.

  • Have you tried a more natural tooth paste like Tom's?  Or maybe even just baking soda?

    There's certain chemicals in normal toothpastes (that's why orange juice tastes bad after brushing your teeth).  I'm guessing that those are making your mouth taste bad.  Here's an article about it:

  • Some days I brush my teeth 6 times a day. It doesn't help for long, but my teeth are definitely getting whiter! The other day I bought a tin of Altoids and a pack of big red gum and both have helped a lot. Much more effective than brushing, and easier while I am at work.
  • I use Tom's in cinnamint -- it doesn't have fluoride, but I love it. I use a sonicare though, and the feeling of it in my mouth makes me gag. Sad. 
  • last time i had to switch to Toms natural toothpaste and i was able to get through a brushing. This time its not bothering me as much, but the foamy stuff makes me gag hard.

  • You don't really need toothpaste to get your teeth clean. It's the motion and brushing that is important not so much what is on the brush. Try just brushing them with warm water and rinsing with an alcohol free mouthwash.
