Most people on this board say to get two regular PNPs.
I have a regular one and my mother bought a twin one, so I've had experience with them both. First, you have to pay attention to the weight limit for both the basinette portion and the playpen portion, because they differ from model to model. The regular PNP I have has a weight limit of 15 lbs for the basinette, so we were only able to use that for a few weeks. I currently use it as storage now, but I'm planning to take it out after the holidays for use as a playpen. I will, however, need to buy another one shortly because the the boys aren't going to have enough room in just one.
I actually like the twin basinette - we used it when we visited my mother at age 2 months and the basinette was awesome. We visited again at 4 months and the basinette was no longer able to hold both infants.
So bottom line, the twin PNP will allow you to use it a bit longer as a basinette, but even that use is limited and eventually you will need to buy a second one so each baby can have one as a playpen.
HTH and Good luck! You have to decide if the extra money is worth a few extra weeks of use as a basinette.

My babies aren't here yet, so my opinion might change. I bought the Graco Twin PNP off of Craigslist. Honestly, I think the bassinet portion is a little flimsy. I plan on using it downstairs for naps while I'm awake. The original intent was to have it set up in our bedroom for the first few weeks and have them sleep there, but (based on my opinion and on some of the reviews I'd read online) I wouldn't feel safe using it while I slept.
We have 2 separate PNPs with bassinets that we're going to use during those early weeks.
If I had bought the twin PNP new, I'd return it. Since I got it for a bargain, I'm going to keep it and then send it over to my parents' house for when my mom watches the babies.
We went with two which is great now for traveling, but honestly we could have used it in the beginning since our girls were so small. It would have only been used for 4-5 months in our house though so in the end having two was probably better. GL!
I have the twin pack and play and two basic pack and plays. My girls rolled into each other and in towards the middle piece seperating them. I didn't feel it was safe. I do like that with the twin one both girls have room to hang out for a few minutes if I need to shower etc.
We used ours in our bedroom for the first 2 months until we moved them into cribs in the nursery. I actually liked the way the bassinet was sturdy, it worked as a great alternative to two bassinets, and also work great for travel up to about 4-5 months depending on how much your kidos will weigh.
We also used ours as a play pen when they were old enough to move around and I needed to take a shower. It's a little bit bigger than a regular play pen, so it gave them a little more space to move.
I personally would recommend it, then when they end up needing 2 actual pack n plays you can get another off of craigslist for the occasional overnight trip.
