Cookie Press (Not TTGP related)

Has anyone used one of these? I just got one from my Mom, and this one is from Pampered Chef. She uses an old school kind....so I got the new one.

I've muddled through it, but the first batch was my best. Anything after that has been somewhat awful. I thought it was the dough sitting out, but then I had put it in the fridge to help it firm up a bit, and it is still doing the same thing.

Ugh. At least I tried! I can put DH in a good mood when he gets home from work....cookies and no more AF! : )

    I don't have one, but my Mom has used the old school one forever. I don't have any tricks for you, just wanted to say I LOVE THOSE COOKIES.

    I love my cookie press! What's the problem with your cookies? I only make spritzer cookies with it.

    DH got me one of those a few years ago, but it's electric. I've seen the Pampered Chef one (and even used to sell Pampered Chef), but wouldn't want to use that one because it's a hand crank - my hand hurts just looking at the picture! lol...

    My mom has a hand crank one....but my PC one is like a trigger type. I've never seen an electric one!

    Ours is electric, what I normally do is only take out a small amount of dough and put it into a seperate bowl on the counter so it doesn't have time to get too warm. The recipe I use makes pretty thick dough, maybe try a different type of cookie?

    I said the same thing to DH. He said ours were pretty...pretty damn good, lol.

    I bought it off eBay 2 years ago. I grew up making these and they are my favorite! It is the best cookie press there is!!!! IMO
