Southeast Kansas Groups?

I never thought I would be able to have children so I never really paid attention to anything involving young children...nor do I have any friends with young children...so I am completely ignorant and feel socially isolated from those I need to meet!!

Are there any parent groups, that don't have a religious agenda, in Southeast Kansas or Northwest Missouri??? I would love to get to know some other parents!!

Im in Fort Scott. There is ZIP here to do. (Were from Kansas City.) getting ready to move to Wichita area for DHs job.

Where are you located? There are some MOPS groups and parents as teachers.

I live in Independence, KS and am a first time mom. I keep hearing scary stories about the local OBGYN in Indy, so I decided to go to Parsons for my OB. The Indy hospital seems much nicer, but the stories about the doctors freak me out. Anyone else have thoughts on good doctors, pediatricians, etc. in SEK?
