Hi Ladies, thanks so much for all of your kind words. They really meant a lot to me and still do. Things are OK here, I'm feeling that both it just wasn't our time yet and optimistic that we at least *could* conceive bc of the CP, but tinged with a little sadness that it appears my hormones have changed so much in the last 3 years.
So, here's the update on our plan after having seen the RE yesterday.
(1) Results I got back:
(a) My RE was really pleased with my
egg health. My AMH was a 1.5 (I think ideally they wanted a 2), and my
resting follie count of 14 combined with that makes them feel really
good about my egg health for my age (will be 41 in a week). He said if we went the IVF route,
we were in a good group. He doesn't seem to even hear me when I say we
can only do IVF if he and the embryologist waive their fees and the
pharmacy gives me the meds for free . Side note, I happen to be
friends with the emb from the other group out here, but not good enough
friends to ask him to lower his cost or see if he could work with his
competition!
(b) Oh my, my progesterone and male hormones are
a hot mess. So with my CP, my progesterone was measured at 1.6. 1.6.
They want to see that more like 50. 1.6 After 2 days of prometrium,
it went up to 21, so at least I apparently respond to tx. My
testosterone, that they'd like to see around 30-60, even 75? 1. Yup,
1. And apparently, a generous 1. Holy. My DHEA-sulfate levels? 55.
Want that to be 300-500.
(2) Still seeing acupuncturist. Her dx was exactly what the bloodwork showed. That just blows my mind.
(3) Getting an HSG. Besides that last time, I got pg 2 cycles after having one done (and the cycle immediately following, DH was out of town for the critical week), the RE also said that it was a good idea bc of my C/S with DS. So either Friday, Monday or Tuesday.
(4) DH is getting an SA done. It wasn't great new last time (3 years ago), but since we conceived DS, the RE really wants to see the results from his lab (we are super lucky out here in Colo to have 2 of the top RE groups, nationally, out here, but they can be a little funny about using lab results done by the other group).
(5) Taking DHEA-S daily and getting levels checked in 2 weeks. Will be injecting HCG 3x during the luteal phase.
(6) They drew a ton more blood, checking thyroid functioning specific to, I think he said, autoimmune dysfunction in the endometrium, and also something else to measure clotting factors.
I still totally have faith in the acupuncture, and am really excited to go again today. That said, with hormone levels as low as they were, I decided to go ahead with supplementing that and of course clearing things out with an HSG. We'll see, fingers crossed!
