LO sleeping position (strange!)

Our LO sleeps very strangely.. He is constantly twisting and turning all over his crib and usually ends up in one side and then moves to the other end. Sometimes he wakes himself up doing that. We do swaddle him but we also tried not to and he still does this twisting/turning thing as if he is not comfortable. He is not crunching his legs to his body (pedi said this might be that something is bothering him - tummy etc) but he is not doing that.. Any thoughts? anyone have the same thing? we have no idea how to fix this and pedi didnt really seem to know either. thanks!

Re: LO sleeping position (strange!)

  • maybe your LO is just a wiggler. I'm a big wiggler and so is my son he moves all over his bed. If hes getting the sleep he needs I would not worry about it

  • If he cranks his neck back like my DD, it's normal.  My DH read somewhere that it's to maximize the oxygen to the lungs and is common for some babies to sleep that way.  Helps prevent SIDS.  Not sure if that's what you meant by twisting/turning.  Our DD also used to sleep like a sundial - she would be in one direction when we put her down and in another when she woke up.  Again, I've heard this from other moms... totally normal.
