Babies: 9 - 12 Months

A few questions

we give DD a bottle at bed time and she lays down with it and falls right to sleep. Now i dont know if i am even supposed to be thinking about weaning her from the bottle (that can be my question number one you can answer)

but should i stop giving the bottle to her in bed (8oz of formula)? let her drink the bottle before bed? or drink formula from a sippy before bed?

if i just put her in the crib with no bottle i know she'll stand up and cry for awhile. is this all just part of it?

AND DD is now 10 months. i feel like iam not giving her enough food.

Breakfast is a thing of stage 3 fruit and some cinnamon snackies

at lunch daycare (who is actually my good friend and its in her home) feeds her a thing of stage 3 veggi baby food. and she likes to eat her snackies like the chedder puffs (and they come in the veggi flavors)

for dinner i give her more corn snackies, a jar of the meat weenies and ive have been giving her some veggis from my dinner plate. some times shes content with her dinner meal sometimes i give her a jar of stage 3 veggis.

should i be making her like big kid meals?

what are you feeding your ten month old?

TIA for advice. i had this feeding thing down pat when it was just bottle and babyfood. now i need your help!

:-)

Re: A few questions

  • It sounds to me like she's eating plenty. My LO's meals go something like this

Breakfast- stage 2 fruit mixed with oatmeal or real oatmeal (instant apple cinnamon, or minute oats mixed with puree or flavored with brown sugar or maple syrup, and cinnamon) maybe some cheerios

Lunch- stage 2 veggie mixed with cereal usually barly or mixed grain ( its too watery without mixing it with cereal). Half apple juice half water 4 oz, and the gerber cheese puffs or diced fruit like strawberries

dinner- stage 2 veggie mixed with cereal, meat sticks, or mac and cheese stage 2 baby food. or something were eating cut or diced into small pieces because he still gags on food. apple juice and water

Plus we started giving him grilled cheese, broke up into pieces. If I give it to him whole(cut in half) he puts too much in his mouth and gags.

He also drinks 3 or 4 8 oz bottles of formula a day

  • My best friend is a dental hygenist and doesnt recommend putting baby to bed with a bottle at all.  She says that the milk can set on their teeth and rot them.  DD drinks her bottle right before she goes to bed.

DD's meal schedule goes a little something like this:

     6:30am----Bottle

9:30am---Oatmeal and a fruit or yogurt

11:00am----Snack (biter biscuits, saltine crackers, etc)

12:30pm---Veggie and a fruit (total of 7 to 9 oz of food)

    3:30pm---Bottle

    5:00pm---Snack

7:00pm--Veggie and a fruit (total of 7 to 9 oz) We are still trying to get her to eat meats.  She hates them and spits them right back at us.

    8:00pm-8:30pm----Bottle

    Hope this helps.

  • i give my almost 10 month old a bottle in her room when its dark, and then she falls asleep while she is drinking it then i put her in th e crib.  eventually they want you to wean her from the bottle alot of people wait a while but others stick to once she turns a year no more bottle!  in which case she would get a sippy cup of milk and brush teeth then crib.

as for food, my daughter doesnt eat the jars of food anymore, jsut regular people food just cut small.  she loves shredded cheese, cottage cheese, super cooked broccoli (i steam it), toast, pretty much anythign we are eating or my 2.5 yr old is eating. she gets 3 or 4 bottles but doesnt drink all too much of them probably about 20 oz a day
