Hey ladies. I have been feeling very anxious lately. Sometimes if I stop and sit quietly I can feel my heart up in my throat- I know this isn't healthy and I can't imagine feeling this way much longer. I am really trying to be calm and positive about everything, but I still feel anxious. Can any of you relate and maybe offer some advice or tips for what I can do to help me relax? Maybe some of you who already have been through this journey can offer some advice? Thanks in advance.

Re: Dealing with anxiety?
The anxiety is definitely starting to die down a little bit for me. You know what I did to keep myself sane that first week & a half? I seriously kept POAS like EOD. Also, I have continued to temp. To me, it is reassuring to see that my temp is still up. I am going to continue to temp until I feel comfortable stopping. I am already in the habit so it's not like it's hurting anything to keep doing it.
I think I will feel even more reassured after my U/S on Friday if everything is still looking good. Hang in there!
I have a minor anxiety problem. On major events, the only way I've been able to function has been 1/2 a pill from my MIL or aunt (both of whomhave anxiety/depression issues). I've never been to a doc about it though, since any time it's really been an issue they've been there to help me out.
Last pregnancy, my trick was to allow myself to obsess over ONE thing. So, I decided I was going to start the hunt for the perfect stroller. I spent HOURS reading reviews and looking at photos/stats. Seriously- for weeks it was insane, but it kept me focused on something fun and really helped me not worry or get overwhelmed. I just put all my crazy into looking for a stroller, which was weird enough, but it kept me shockingly calm. That... and prayer. Lots of prayer.

No problem!
FWIW, we LOVED the UppaBaby Vista & BabyJogger City Elite (we need a full size, all-terrain stroller). UB is super well-designed, smoothest push we found, more modular/expandable, and has a bassinet- kid sits up higher too. BJ is a little more standard (but still awesome) and has THE best fold of anything (seriously- watch a youtube video of how the BabyJogger City series folds!). UB is really, really expensive though, so unless we get it as a gift (likely from family), we'll be going with the BJ.

My SIL got severe anxiety during her last pregnancy and doesn't normally suffer from it. She experienced such severe heart palpitations that she went to the ER actually. I don't think they gave her anything for it though.
I agree with PP; try some deep breathing exercises, yoga, meditations, warm baths, etc. Hope it doesn't last long!
