FSH level question

I just got my CD3 b/w results back...the nurse said my FSH level was 7.9, and said that was normal.  But of course when I got home I googled it (dangerous, I know...) and some sites have said that number is high.

...and I'm 30 - I know that what is considered 'normal' FSH varies by age.

 Any input would be appreciated!!

I have always heard anything under 10 (or 10 and under...something like that) is good.

My FSH on my day 3 appt last week was 18 and they wouldn't let me cycle.  Their cut-off is 15.  Said I probably wouldn't have a good response to the meds if we cycled.

I'm obviously not a doctor, but your 7.9 sounds good to me!

My FSH has been as high as 12.2 when tested.  They go by your highest FSH level to determine response.  My RE considers 12 to be borderline high.  So, he also checked my AFC (antral follicle count) on CD3.  This gives you another look at whether there is a reserve issue.  He also tested my AMH level.  Using all three, I was diagnosed as DOR.

7.9 is fine for FSH.  Do you know what your Estradiol level was?  Estradiol levels can artificially supress your FSH level.  So, your FSH and Estradiol should be checked at the same time.  If your Estradiol was a normal level, I wouldn't worry too much about your FSH.  You could also ask to have an AFC done and AMH checked.
